Desert Technologies is committed to making a positive impact through Sustainable Economic Development

At Desert Technologies, we believe that private enterprise must be at the forefront of promoting sustainable economic development. As a Renewable Energy and Clean Water company with major operations in developing and emerging markets, dt was founded to address the goals of sustainable development and impact investment. We work in less developed nations providing access to energy and clean water, as well as providing job opportunities and vocational training.

Our belief in sustainability applies to all our stakeholders. Our projects must be sustainable for our clients, sustainable for the environment and communities in which the projects are located, sustainable for our employees and sustainable for our shareholders.

Gender Equality DT is aiming to provide women and girls with equal access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes that will fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity at large.

In 2016, Desert Technologies introduced its clean water division, creating turn-key water treatment solutions like a mobile, packaged or utility scale plants, including wastewater, desalination and drinking water – all powered by energy solutions.

DT is a solar PV panel manufacturer, EPC contractor and IPP project developer. Whether developing large scale projects selling affordable energy to government or mini grids to provide energy to rural communities, we are committed to clean energy for all.

DT is aiming to allow the creation of quality jobs will remain a major challenge for almost all economies well beyond 2015. Allowing sustainable economic growth will require societies to create conditions that allow people to have quality jobs that stimulate the economy while not harming the environment. Job opportunities and decent working conditions are also required for the whole working-age population.

DT labs, our manufacturing division, invests in R&D to create new and better solutions. Current areas of infrastructure innovation including developing Solar-powered Electric Vehicle charging stations and solar street lamps that can provide Wi-Fi and phone charging services.

DT is targeting the most vulnerable nations – the least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and the small island developing states – continue to make inroads into poverty reduction.

Through our Mini Grids, Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure, Energy Efficiency and rooftop solar products, dt is helping to build cities that are cleaner, safer and better to live in, as well as more productive economically.

DT is currently developing mini-grid systems that re-use lithium-ion batteries, whether from cars or from computers, to build economic and efficient mini-grid and off-grid solar systems in Africa. Recycle, and efficient use of resources is a priority at DT.

Energy production and use account for two- thirds of the world’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Therefore diversifying our sources of energy towards renewables and away from fossil fuels must be a priority to meet the COP 21 goals. Ever cheaper energy storage, reducing the intermittency of Wind and Solar, lets us aspire to ever great % of renewables among our generation sources.

DT is targeting to create a successful sustainable development agenda that requires partnerships between governments, the private sector, and civil society. These inclusive partnerships built upon principles, values, a shared vision, and shared goals that place people and the planet at the center, are needed at the global, regional, national and local levels.
